How we look after your details.
What we collect when you order a Life Reading or use the Lumo app, why, who helps us, how long we keep it, and how to download, change or delete it.
Last updated 1 November 2026
The short version
This page covers two things: the Life Reading you order on this site, and the Lumo app.
- We collect only what we need to make your readings and run the app.
- We don't sell your details, and we don't show ads.
- You can see, correct or delete your details at any time. In the app, Profile has a button for each.
Life Reading: what we collect
From the order form:
- your name and email address
- the birth date, time and place of the person the reading is for, and where they live now if you tell us
- who the reading is for (you, someone else who agreed, or your child), and your confirmation of that
- anything else you choose to share: rasi and natchathiram from a family horoscope, marital status, work, what you want the reading to know, and your questions
- the languages you choose and a coupon code if you use one
- which version of this notice you agreed to, and when
- which of our posts brought you to the order form, if you came from one
From your payment: the payment partner's order and payment numbers, the amount and the time. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
On your device: the thank-you page keeps a private order key in your browser so it can show your order's progress. If you arrived from one of our posts, the order page keeps which post it was for 30 days, so an order can be counted against the post that brought it. We don't use advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are set only if you allow them (see analytics on this site).
Please don't share health conditions, caste, religion or other people's private details in the free-text boxes. The reading doesn't need them.
Life Reading: why we use it
- to work out your chart and write your reading, including answers to your questions
- to email your reading and reply when you write to us
- to take payment, give refunds and keep the records the law asks for
Life Reading: who helps us
A few services handle parts of your order for us, only for that purpose and under their own data protection terms:
- PhonePe or PayU takes your payment: your name, email, the amount and how you pay. In India.
- Anthropic (the Claude AI model) helps draft the words. It receives the name, birth date, time and places, age, marital status and work, the facts of the chart, what you wrote and your questions, but not your email address. In the USA. Anthropic does not train its models on this data.
- Resend sends the email with your reading, and the link to your order when you ask for one. A US company, it sends our email from Japan.
- Vercel runs our servers (in the USA), and MongoDB Atlas stores your order (on AWS in Mumbai, India).
- Open-Meteo finds the place you type into the birth place box. Only the place name is sent. In Europe.
- Onecape, our own marketing tool (also Dextr Labs), counts which of our posts lead to orders. For an order that came from one of our posts it receives that post's code, the amount and an order number: nothing that says who you are. In Singapore.
So your details are processed in India and also in the USA and Europe. We send them abroad only to these services and only to make and deliver your reading.
What a reading says is drawn from the chart: it can touch on marriage and close bonds, family, money, and energy and sleep. These readings are kept with your order, under the same rules as the rest of it.
Life Reading: how long we keep it
We keep your order and your reading for two years, so we can send it again or answer a question about it, then delete them. That includes the copy of your reading on the encrypted computer we make readings on. Payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, which can be up to eight years. We keep a record of when details were looked up or deleted (never the details themselves) for two years.
If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, except for the payment records we must keep.
Life Reading: your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the details we hold about you, and who we shared them with
- correct them or fill in what is missing
- delete them
- name someone who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself
To withdraw your consent, use “Cancel this order and delete my details” on your order page. It stops any reading not yet sent, deletes your details at once, and refunds you in full if the reading had not been emailed. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was.
For anything else, write to contact@dextrlabs.com from the email address you ordered with. If the reading was for someone else, they can write to us too. We reply within 2 working days and finish within 30 days.
In the Lumo app: what we collect
The Lumo app shows you this notice when you sign up and asks you to agree. We record which version you agreed to (this one is 2026-11-02) and when. If we change what we collect or who helps us, the app asks you again.
What you give us:
- your email address, to sign in (if you signed up with a phone number before, we keep that number until you delete your account)
- your name
- your birth date, time and place, and where you live now if you tell us
- if you choose to tell us: your gender, religion, marital status and when you married, your work, and the life questions you want the app to focus on
- the stars of your mother, father and partner, and the star your family horoscope names, if you add them
- the birth details of family members and a partner you add, with their agreement, or as the parent or legal guardian of a child
- your chat messages and voice messages, and the answers Lumo gives
- your evening reflections and moods, and the life milestones you save
- your notification choices, and if you buy a plan, the payment record
What the app notes as you use it: which screens and features you open, and when. We call these usage events. They carry your account number and small details such as the language you use or the mood you picked, never the words of your messages.
On your phone: the app keeps your sign-in and a copy of recent cards so they open without a signal. Signing out or deleting your account clears them.
In the app: why we use it
- to sign you in and keep your account safe
- to work out your chart and write your daily card, readings, reports and chat answers
- to shape the words to your life: your work, your relationships, your questions, and festivals that fit your faith
- to make readings for the family members and partner you add
- to turn your voice into text and read answers aloud, when you use voice
- to send the notifications you turned on, at the right time for where you live
- to see which parts of the app help people, and fix what doesn't
- to keep answers safe, as explained below
In the app: who helps us
These services handle parts of the app for us, only for that purpose and under their own data protection terms:
- MongoDB Atlas stores your account, your birth details and everything you save in the app. On AWS in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel runs our servers, and its Blob storage keeps your voice messages and spoken answers at a long, random web address only your app knows. In the USA.
- Resend emails the code you sign in with. It receives your email address and the code. A US company. It sends our email from Japan.
- Ollama Cloud writes chat answers, readings and reports from your chart, and helps our safety checks read a question. It receives your question, the recent conversation, the facts of your chart and sometimes a name you saved, never your email address. Ollama is a US company. We have not yet confirmed which country its servers are in.
- Anthropic (Claude) writes chat answers and readings when Ollama Cloud is busy. It receives the same as Ollama Cloud, and does not train its models on it. In the USA.
- LLM gateway is a backup way to reach an AI model for chat answers, used only when we switch it on. It receives the same as Ollama Cloud. We have not yet confirmed which country it runs in.
- Typesafe (Jev) checks questions and answers so a reading stays kind and safe. It receives the words of the question or the answer. We have not yet confirmed which country it runs in.
- Sarvam AI turns your voice messages into text, reads answers aloud, puts readings into Tamil, and can help write answers. It receives your recording or the words it works on. In India.
- Upstash QStash sends each notification at the right moment. It receives your account number, the time to send it and which kind of reminder it is, such as a planet changing sign. Never your name, your birth details or the words of the notification. We have not yet confirmed whether it runs in the USA or in Europe.
- Your browser's push service delivers notifications to your device if you turn them on: Google for Chrome and Android, Apple for Safari and iPhone, Microsoft for Edge, Mozilla for Firefox. It receives the notification and an address for your device. It depends on your browser, and is mostly in the USA.
- Open-Meteo finds the place you type in a place box, and the time zone of a place you pick. It receives the place name or its map point. In Europe.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim finds the place when Open-Meteo cannot. It receives the place name or its map point. In Europe.
- Razorpay takes the payment if you buy a report or a plan in the app. It receives the amount and how you pay. In India.
So your details are processed in India and also in the USA and Europe, and in places we are still confirming for the services marked above. We send them only to these services and only to run the app.
In the app: when a person reads a conversation
To keep answers safe, a small sample of conversations may be read by our team. That is about one answer in twenty, chosen at random, and every answer our safety checks changed or stopped, with the question that led to it. We read them only to find answers that were wrong, unkind or unsafe, and to make the checks better. These answers are not copied anywhere else: they stay in your account, marked for review, for as long as you keep it, and go when you delete it.
In the app: how long we keep it
- Your account and everything in it, including your charts, family, conversations, voice messages, reflections and milestones: for as long as you keep the account. Delete the account and they go at once.
- Usage events: 400 days (about 13 months), then they are deleted, or sooner if you delete your account.
- Answers chosen for safety review: with your account, and deleted with it.
- When we try out a new way of writing chat answers, a copy of your question and of the trial answer (which you are never shown): 90 days, or sooner if you delete your account.
- A link you make to invite your partner: 14 days at most.
- Sign-in codes: about ten minutes.
- A record of what was done with your account (when you agreed to this notice, downloaded your data or deleted the account, and when our team looked at it), never the details themselves: two years. It holds your account number only in scrambled form.
- Payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, which can be up to eight years. When you delete your account, we remove the link between them and you.
In the app: your choices and rights
- Download my data, in Profile, gives you a copy of everything we hold about you, and the list of services above.
- Delete my account, in Profile, deletes your account and everything in it at once. Only the payment records the law asks us to keep stay, without your account attached. Deleting is how you withdraw your consent, and it is as easy as signing up was.
- You can change or remove your details, family members and partner in Profile at any time.
- You can turn notifications off in Profile, or in your phone's settings.
For anything else, including naming someone who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself, write to contact@dextrlabs.com and tell us the email address you sign in with. We reply within 2 working days and finish within 30 days.
Analytics on this site
This site asks once whether it may count your visit with Google Analytics (Google, USA). Until you tap Allow, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is set. If you choose No thanks, it stays that way.
If you allow it, Google receives:
- the address of the page, without anything after a ? or a #
- the page title, your browser, device type and screen size
- your rough location, worked out from your internet address
- a random ID in a cookie (_ga), so a return visit can be told from a first one
Never your name, email, birth details, questions or order. The order page sends nothing at all. Advertising features are switched off, and nothing is sold. Google keeps the details of each visit for at most 14 months. Our reports show only totals.
You can change your mind at any time with Analytics choices at the foot of every page. Turning it off stops it at once and deletes its cookies.
Keeping it safe
Only the people who make and check readings can see orders and accounts. Your details travel encrypted, and are stored encrypted in the database and on the computer that makes readings. The key for your order's status page stays in your browser, and we store only a scrambled form of it, so our records alone can't open your order. A coupon remembers your email only in scrambled form. Payments go through PhonePe or PayU for orders and Razorpay in the app, never through our servers.
If a breach ever puts your details at risk, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay: what happened, what it means for you and what we are doing about it.
Children
Orders are placed by adults. A reading for someone under 18 can only be ordered by their parent or legal guardian, who chooses “my child” on the form, confirms it and consents for them.
You need to be 18 or older to have a Lumo app account. A parent or legal guardian can add their child to the family list in their own account, and confirms that they are the parent or guardian when they do.
We don't track or advertise to anyone, children included.
Changes
If we change how we use your details, we update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters to an order you have placed, we email you first. If it changes what the app collects or who helps us, the app shows you the new notice and asks you again.
Questions and complaints
Our grievance officer is Dinesh Kumar K, Founder and Director, Dextr Devs OPC Private Limited. For anything about your details, including a complaint, write to contact@dextrlabs.com. We reply within 2 working days and resolve it within 30 days. The contact page lists every way to reach us.
If you are not happy with how we resolved your complaint, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India through its online portal.
